Nerd Alert! MTG, LOTR, Bob Ross, Star Trek, and a lifelong obsession with game design.
My most vivid first memories revolved around creating games. It was never enough to simply play them; I needed to rewrite the rules and expand every game. Around the age of 6 I created my first TCG, heavily inspired by Warcraft: Orcs and Humans and my older brother’s MTG collection. Nothing gave me more satisfaction than drawing each and every card by hand.
With age came ambition, moving from text-based adventure games to modding and custom map making for some of my favorite games. When Minecraft first released it became my new primary focus, because it was basically everything I ever wanted in a game. This led to my participation in the design of a very successful Minecraft mod, Civcraft. I primarily focused on the design and balancing of the game’s mechanics. Civcraft was a combination of Civilization’s empire building and FPS combat, paired with the freedom and expansiveness of Minecraft’s world.
After investing thousands of hours and being restricted by others’ IP, it was time to start developing original IP of my own.
Professionally I’ve spent 20+ years as a Systems Administrator at Microsoft and a SaaS Support/Cloud Engineer for a number of tech startups, most notably BitTitan. I’ve spent the last 4+ years working in the game engine industry.

Lead Programmer, Music, Game Design
I’m a professional software engineer with 25+ years of experience in the industry. For the first 10 I worked on large-scale distributed networking systems at F5 Networks, and for the last 15+ I have been working on game engines in the gaming industry. I’ve had a lifelong passion for games and dedicated my life to learning how to make them.
I was also the lead programmer for Civcraft, a large total-conversion Bukkit plugin for Minecraft, where players played as individual citizens and worked together to build a civilization from nothing. Between 2012 and 2015 I ran a large multi-server Minecraft network dedicated to the mod, before open-sourcing the project in 2015 to move on to my own game projects. The Civcraft project has been forked and updated by the community and lives on today thanks to its dedicated fanbase.
